How many hours have your kids played soccer barefoot in the back yard in the grass? This is another activity that can be done alone or with a friend and, yes, it involves yet another ball! Soccer is excellent exercise not to mention all the other physical and developmental benefits. The movement required to run up and down chasing a ball is perfect for kids. They need to move and they need to move a lot. The next time you are having problems unplugging your child, hand him his soccer ball and open the back door. Not only will he have fun but he will be exhausted and great sleep is a health benefit we tend to forget about too often : )
