The next time you organize an art project for your kids, think about moving it outside. Kids need to be outside hearing the sounds, feeling the wind, watching the birds and getting some sunlight. In today’s digital world many kids (and adults) don’t get enough sunlight which means they are low in vitamin D. Mom, this is an easy thing to do; simply make a few adjustments and set the project outside. We have an art camp every year (that I will blog about soon) and when it came to painting the cans it was an easy decision to send the boys out the door. Boys like to do anything better when they are doing it outside : )
Even if he is not interested much in art he can find success in simple projects. It is very important for your son to learn to create something other than a new way to get to the top of his video game. Think about things he can do with his hands. Here is the finished project.
